Webinar: Financing the Green Transition: The role of the European Investment Bank

29 Apr 2025

The European Investment Bank (EIB), alongside the World Bank, is one of the world’s largest multilateral financial institutions in lending. In recent years, the EIB has redefined its mission, branding itself as the EU’s “climate bank.” Its role in financing the green transition within the EU is crucial, as it drives strategic investments to tackle the climate crisis and promote sustainable development.

Given its impact on the environmental agenda and its influence on the green economy, engaging in dialogue with an EIB representative is essential. This webinar provides a valuable opportunity to understand how funds for the green transition are structured and managed, while also analysing the major challenges currently facing green finance.

Through an interactive discussion with an expert from the EIB, the session will explore the bank’s strategies and activities in green finance. It will serve as a platform to exchange ideas and perspectives from civil society on the green and just transition, identify key challenges and opportunities in sustainable finance, and foster potential collaborations to enhance stakeholder participation in the shift towards a low-carbon economy.
